Number trick Write down any number. Multiply this number by 6. Subtract 1. Multiply this number by itself. Add 23 to that. Divide this by 24. Subtract 1. Multiply by 2. Now divide this product by the number you first wrote down (oh, yes, it will come out even!). Add 40 to the quotient. Divide this by 3. From this quotient subtract the number you first wrote down.
