1. Seven Circles Problem:
Distribute the numbers from 1 to 7, one in each circle, so that:

a) the sum of every three in alignment is the same;
b) the sum of either alternate set of three numbers in the outer ring is also this sum.

2. Cow Problem:
A certain breed of cow has the following characteristics: At the age of three, and every year thereafter, it gives birth to a new female. Each of these goes through the same cycle. Disregarding males, and deaths, how many cows would there be in the herd after twenty years, if a farmer started with one such animal at birth?

Amaze Your Friends... Number trick
Write down any number. Multiply this number by 6. Subtract 1. Multiply this number by itself. Add 23 to that. Divide this by 24. Subtract 1. Multiply by 2. Now divide this product by the number you first wrote down (oh, yes, it will come out even!). Add 40 to the quotient. Divide this by 3. From this quotient subtract the number you first wrote down. Your answer is 13!
