Cardinal Football 500 Club
The Cardinals rolled up 500 total yards of offense leading the way to a 43-33 win over the Maple Heights Mustangs. The win raises the the Cards record to 5-1 overall and 1-0 in league play. Bill Deitmen had an outstanding night with 225 yards on 25 carries. He started the scoring with a 58 yard sprint to the end zone. Kevin Harper then kicked a 20 yard field goal. Bart Tanski hit Tyler Schutz with a 30 yard score. Deitmen followed with his second TD run on the evening with a 19 yard scamper. All of this happened in the first quarter with Mentor leading 23-6. Tanski threw his second score to Schutz for 31 yards. Tanski then ran a 5 yard TD along with Matt Dings diving his way in for a 1 yard score. The Cardinals play the Cleveland Heights Tigers next Friday on October 6th. Join us for the short drive to watch the Cards continue their run toward the playoffs. GO CARDS!!!
