The 2009 National Team!
National Team
Saturday April 18th the Mentor Science Olympiad team took 2nd at the State competition at OSU. They defeated Solon which led the compeition this entire season. Mentor and Centerville represented the state of Ohio in Augusta, Georgia May 15th-16th. Last year Solon was 2nd in the country and Centervile was 3rd. This year Mentor took 7th place and Centerville took 1st place.

Dear Epic Team,
I have never been more proud to be a part of a team than now! I know that each and everyone of you has worked hard to get to this point, and you all really deserve this, in my mind, more than anyone. I have never seen a group that has been so single minded in their dedication to Science Olympiad, and it shows! I wanted to be one of the first to congratulate you all on a job well, no, amazingly done!
I said earlier that we either go to nationals as a team, or we walk away from states with a lesson as a team. Well, I'm just glad it was the former!
We've got a lot of work ahead of us, and I hope that everyone will continue to strive to do their best as Georgia approaches. We no longer just represent ourselves and Mentor High School, we represent the eleven-million four-hundred eighty-five thousand nine-hundred ten people of Ohio. We've got a lot of responsibility, but I know that we're going to do even better.
Keep checking your emails, we've got a lot of planning to do, and not so much time... :)
Again, I don't think that I've ever been so happy, and each and everyone of you should be extremely proud of yourselves and your teammates. It has been an absolute pleasure to be one of your Captains thus far, and I cannot wait to have one more great tournament with you all.
