The Plain Dealer weill be publishing their "senior Standouts" section in May. MHS may nominate one senior for this honor. If you would like to be considered, stop by guidance A113 and pick up an application. Deadline is Feb. 10.
Future Leaders has finished their supply drive for the Battered Womens' Shelter. There was an overwheming amount of support from the MHS staff. We collected every item on the Shelter's "wish list." Thank You MHS staff! This semester Future Leaders will be focusing on volunteering within the community. Loactions will be decided at a later date.
At Wright State University Mentor finished 3rd in Ohio but 5th overall in a field of 60 teams. Just ahead of Mentor were the Texas State and Illinois state champions. The team looks forward to Solon on the 4th and Mentor on the 18th of February.

The JV swimming sectionals were held at the CT Branin Natatorium in Canton this past Saturday with many top finishes and lots of time dropped for the Mentor team. The top eight finishes in each event made the podium. Top finishes for the girls:

The varsity diving sectionals will be held at Solon on ednesday and Thursday, followed by the swimming sectionals at Case this Saturday. Good luck to all of the swimmers and divers participating and congratulations to the swimmers that represented us so well at the JV sectionals. Go Cards!
Boys Basketball:Sports Information:
Way to Go Cards!! The Varsity Boys beat the Bombers of Kenston by a score of 85-58. Five players were in double figures, led by Justin Fritts with 14, Mitchell Trubisky & Brody Nelson (11) and Danny Wallack & Conner Krizancic (10). Welcome back Danny!
The next game is Tuesday, February 7 at Strongsville.
Boys JV Basketball:Sports Information:
The JV Boys Basketball team lost a close game to Kenston by a score of 51-55. The leading scorers for Mentor were Kade McClure (19) and Von Maddox (16).

Gymnastics:NOC Conference Meet:
The gymnastics team scored 142.125 points to win the Northeast Ohio Conference meet held Saturday at Medina High School. Strongsville was runner-up. Contributing to the win were Co-captains Brittney Adkins, Alex Aiello, Allie Arthur, and Kayla Kosmerl who each competed all-around; supported by event specialists Sarah Butterfield, Lauren Cannon, Jordan Beebe, and Bri Latta.
Kayla swept the individual competition winning each of the 4 events and All-Around with a season best 37.90. Alex was NOC runner-up in All-Around (35.45), 4th vault, 5th beam. Allie finished 2nd vault and 4th All-Around (35.25). Kayla, Alex and Allie also earned All-NOC recognition. Congratulations!
