There is still a bunch of us that follow the games, and I want to thank you all for giving us, "bragging rights". We are with you ALWAYS. GO CARDS!!

I attended my first High School Football game since the late 80's on Saturday to see Mentor destroy the area's top parochial school (St. Ignatius). You've done good, and as an alumni you've made us proud. Stay focused on the State Title, it will live with you for life. The web site is great! Since registering my e-mail address, I've made contact with several old friends I haven't talked to since graduating in 1985.

I am a forgetful person and I forgot the words to Mentors fight school. I know it is Fight the Team across the field, but the words are different than at Ohio State. Can anyone get me the actual words to Mentors fight song. Thanks.

Julie I agree with what you said. I just don't understand all of this. It's not our fault as students for the $16 million loss. Why must we suffer for someone else's actions (or non-actions in this case). WE didn't choose who's in charge of US. Our college applications are going to look very appealing with basic classes on them *sarcasm*. It also is very frustrating to me because if issue 2 doesn't pass (which most people think it's not going to), the past 4 months of my life are going down the drain and my season is over. Yes it might be the marching band and most of you will sit here and say who cares about the marching band. Well 141 students for sure care, as well as the directors and parents. We have put loads of money into it. We have also put a lot of time into it and now we get cut off early. It's very frustrating. I just wish someone would consider this. Thank you to Dr. Hoynes for supporting us and I can count on you. Good day

Last night I attended my first high school football game since 1977. My son plays saxophone in the Oak Forest Bengal marching band. Its the first game I was able to make. It brought back great memories of the 3 years I spend playing sax in the FCMB. It was the first time I watched from the stands. It made me realize how important the band is for a schools spirit. Being in the band was like having a huge extended family. I'm glad my son is apart of such a positive experience.

In response to the recent findings of the Mentor School Board, I'd like to say a few words. While the acts of the (former?) treasurer were obviously a large part of the debts we are now facing, I also feel that the Mentor School Board itself is partially responsible. At the recent Board meeting on October 29, I heard Dr. Hoynes and Mr. Davis and a few of the other Board members discussing the issue of trust with the rest of the audience. Their argument was to say that the treasurer was an experienced and competent individual, therefore what reasons did they have to question his information? I agree that in an ideal world, I would trust his data as well. However, in this day and age we are all aware of the fact that some people lie. With this knowledge, I believe the Mentor School Board had sufficient reasons to question his facts even furthur. Perhaps a checks and balance system of sorts would have prevented this situation. Are we or are we not resting all of our city's educational funds in the hands of one man, without some kind of evaluation to make sure this man is doing his job? And if so, why? The education of the children is at stake--shouldn't we take as many precautions as possible? As a side note, I was lucky to have Dr. Hoynes as a principal for 2 years at Memorial and I think that if anyone can get us out of this situation, it's her. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Hello, Mentor High! I graduated from MHS in 1998... already been 5 years! I just wanted to drop in and tell the teachers I had how much I appreciate everything you did for me in my years as a student. I do miss you, but you are definitely not forgotten. I'm now married, two years out of college, and working at the Cleveland Clinic in cancer research. Who would have guess where I'd be today? Certainly not me!
