Cardinal

Attention Sports Web Site Fans

If any parent, student, coach, or fan would like to contribute or help run one of their team's websites, please contact Kristina Vaci at sportz@mentorhigh.com. She will help people learn to upload pictures, update their website, and post sports updates and rosters or schedules.

Boys Basketball

Tickets for the Boy's Basketball Regional Semi-final game will be on sale in the High School Gym Lobby from 8 am to 3pm Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Reserve seating is available and tickets are $6.00 presale and $8.00 at the door. Mentor plays the second game of a double header.

Hockey

HS Team of the Month:
The Mentor High School hockey program is in its 21st year of existance. The Cardinals play in the White West Division of the GCHSHL and finished the season in 2nd place with a league record if 7-3-0 and an overall record of 14-11-1.

This season, Mentor has participated in four tournaments: the Cold Turkey Shootout, Thornton Park, Trinity Christmas and the Ehrnfelt Memorial Tournament. The Cardinals are currently competing in the State District Tournament that is being held in Kent.

The 2007-2008 varsity team consists of six seniors, five juniors, and eleven sophomores. The Cardinals are led by Head Coach Mike Tinik and Assistant Coaches Nick Tinik and Mike Racutt, and play their home games at Mentor Civic Arena.

Wrestling

Wrestling is going strong as they hit the stride of their season, looking to win sectionals and move on to districts. Sectionals on Feb. 15 and 16. GO CARDS!

Swimming and Diving

The Swimming and Diving team is headed to states! Congratulations to girls going to states; Samantha Nameth, Rachel Hunsinger, and Alicia Berman as well as David Suhan for the boys team. Good luck at states!! States are Feb. 21 and 22 at Canton McKinley HS.

Girls Basketball

The Girls Basketball is in the championship, winning their last game 56-38. Top scorers were Kelsey Berger with 17 points, Stephanie Rogers with 13, and Kelly Wallenfelsz with 12. Watch them win it all this Saturday, Feb. 23 at 1 pm. Go Cards!!

The Breakfast Program will be offered daily with a selection of cereals, muffins, granola bars, bagels, breakfast bars, fresh fruit, juices, and milk, as well as hot selections - $1.25 (includes milk)

 

Students that qualify for a free or reduced lunch will automatically qualify for free or reduced breakfast.

 

Free and Reduced Lunch Applications are available from the Unit Office, the Records Office, or the Main Office - one application per family.
