Governor's Art Award

Senior Kate Zajc is this year's Governor's Art Award winner. Her piece was the one chosen from 12,000 to hang in the governor's permanent art collection in Columbus. >>more.

Science Teacher of the Year

Congratulations to Mrs. Becky Haller, a biology teacher at Wickliffe High School, and wife of Detective Haller, for winning the Lubrizol Science teacher of the year award. Also, congratulations to our own Mr. Ramsey for being named runner-up and receiving a $500.00 grant for the Science Olympiad team.

Science Olympiad: Nationals

This year's Science Olympiad team finished 5th in the country out of 60 schools invited to the national tournament and 5th out of the 14,000 schools that participate nationally. >> more

Science Fair:

Mentor had 4 students compete at two science fairs this year. The first was Northeast Ohio Science and Engineering Fair at Cleveland State. At the awards ceremony they were awarded the following. Rebekah Moore a senior took 1st place in the Earth Space category and earned $100. Samantha O'Neill also a senior took 3rd place in Biology and earned $75 from the American Statistical Association, $100 from the Cleveland Clinic Department of cell biology, $50 from the Cleveland Clinic dep$ Jennifer Buse,a junior, earned a 2nd place in Engineering and earned $100 from the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, and was recognized with a certificate of achievement from both the International S$ Matt Stroebel a junior earned an honorable mention in Mathematic and Computer Science. He also earned a $200 bond from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, $50 from the Society of Automotiv$ At the Akron fair Rebekah took a 3rd place in Earth Space. Then at the State Science Day on May 12th Columbus Rebekah's work was recognized as Superior. .
