Gymnastics: March 9, 2010
Congratulations to the Lady Cardinals who finished fifth in the state team gymnastics competition on Friday. Mentor scored Gymnastics: 139.9 points finishing behind state champion Brecksville-Broadview Heights, Strongsville, Hudson and Magnificat. Great Job Ladies! In the individual competition held on Saturday, Kayla Kosmerl placed 6th all-around, and Alex Aiello placed 9th on vault. Both Kosmerl and Aiello were named to the All-State team. Congratulations!

The Cardinals had another successful weekend on most accounts! In wrestling Jack Young was state runner up and Damien Perry finished 6th in his weight class. Boys Tennis: March 7, 2010
Boys Tennis practice starts March 8. Varsity and JV teams will be at the Civic Center Courts from 3 to 5. Check the athleitc office bulletine board daily for changes. Players must have a physical on file to participate. See Mr. Raiff in if you have any questions

Softball: March 4, 2010
Softball try-outs will begin on Monday March 8. We will meet in C-Lecture at 4:30. You must have all forms in to participate. If you need forms see Coach Horvath in C 205. See you there.
Boys Basketball: March 4, 2010
Tickets for Saturdays boys basketball sectional final game are on sale in the athletic office. Adults are $6 and students are $4. The Cardinals play Willoughby South at 8pm at Euclid High School. All tickets are $6 at the door.
Swimming and Diving: March 3, 2010
The Mentor swimming and diving team participated with sixteen other high schools at the high school sectionals held at Mayfield High School on February 12th and 13th. Both the girls and boys teams finished 4th. The district championship for swimming was held at Cleveland State University with almost 100 high schools participating on February 19th. Qualifiers for Mentor were Brent Harden, Zack Urbancic, Russell Fleming, Michael Dopuch, Andy Radel, Kyle Phyfer, Katie Dreger, Rhiannon Herbert, Annie Chirdon, Shana Nameth, Carli Dugan, and Veronica Bontempo. Jack Young, Damien Perry, Alex Sweeney all qualified for the State Wrestling tournament in Columbus this weekend. Zack Forro qualified as an alternate. Jack was the Mentor District Champion at 103 pounds! Good Luck this weekend!
