Clubs

Prom

Tickets for the 2018 Mentor Prom will go on sale on Monday, April 23rd. Tickets are $36.00 per person and $70.00 per couple. Please remember to fill out a guest approval form if you are planning on bringing someone who is a non-Mentor student. Forms can be picked up in the unit 12 office or the bookstore and are required in order to purchase tickets.


Fishing Club

Yo Ho Ho...well Shiver me timbers..fishing club is cancelled for Thursday at Veteran's Park.


Pride

Once again this year, MHS's PRIDE group will be participating in The GLSEN National Day of Silence, to show support for Gay/Lesbian/Trans students. This year's date is Friday, April 20. Students who wish to show support must see Miss Gomori/Mr. Montgomery (room 114) in advance to get a sticker and sign up


CARDS

Once again CARDS Bullying Awareness Club is sponsoring a Senior Citizen Prom on May 3rd at Parker Place from 6 to 8pm. Come dance with the seniors, have great conversations, take a Limo ride, and sample the appetizers. This is a great community event and you can earn community service hours for your participation. Sign-up in Mr. Nemunaitis' office (A115) no later than April 25th.

The Cardinal Lab will be running a fundraiser for Autism Awareness by selling T-shirts and Key chains April 13th- April 20th. There will be two ways to purchase t shirts and other gear. The other way will be to purchase the shirts and key chains in the student center from April 16-April 20th. We will only be selling key chains and t shirts in the student center. Please contact Mrs. Bidlack with any questions!

National Honor Society

Attention Sophomores and Juniors with a cumulative gpa above 3.5: You should have received an email over Spring Break through Infinite Campus outlining the application process for National Honor Society. Please check the email address you have linked with Infinite Campus. If you did not receive an email, but believe that you should have, please contact Mr. Senn in room B219 or senn@mentorschools.org.

Representatives from Carlow College and Lakeland Community College will be visiting MHS on 4/25. Lakeland rep will be in H-102 at 11:15. The Carlow rep will be in the Student Center during the lunch mods. If you'd like to attend the Lakeland meeting, sign up on Naviance and you'll receive a pass to attend.

The City of Mentor needs teen volunteers for their various summer camps. Volunteers must be 14 or over and completed 9th grade. If you're interested, stop by the Guidance Office, room A114 for information or go to www.cityofmentor.com.

Sophomores and Juniors interested in serving as counselors for 6th grade camp in the fall need to apply by filling out the application and getting a teacher recommendation. Guys are especially needed as camp counselors. A link to the online application is on Schoology. Students will also need to ask a teacher to complete a recommendation form as part of the application process. Teacher recommendations will be done on paper and you will need to get the form from Mr. Byrum in I107. The deadline for submitting the application and the teacher recommendation form is May 11, 2018.

Seniors, if you're looking for full-time employment after high school, sign-up to attend the Reserves Network Staffing meeting on April 23 at 9:15. They have many full-time jobs opportunities they're looking to fill. Sign-Up in Guidance, A114.


Sports

Boys Soccer

There will be a mandatory Mentor High School Boys Soccer team informational meeting on Thursday, April 19th at 7pm in Lecture Hall A for players and parents. Come meet the new varsity head coach, Michael Sesar, and the rest of the returning coaching staff, Coach Bill, Coach Gary and Coach Luciano. We will also have information about open field practices, summer leagues, camps, tournaments and other important information.
