National Honor Society

General

CARDS Meeting - There will be a CARDS meeting on Wednesday, February 8th at 7a.m. in room A113. We will be finalizing plans for the video production and the Success Is Cardinal presentations. The sign up sheets are on Mr. Nemunaitis' office door. You must sign up to particiapte in either of these events. Please see Mr. Nemunaitis if you have any questions.


Guidance

Seniors: There are additional new scholarships available this week. Among them, Mentor Classified Employees, Mentor High School PTSA, Ridge Middle School and the Sterling Morton PTA Scholarships. Stop by Guidance A113 for applications.


Drivers' Ed Classes will begin after school on Mon., Jan. 30 at 2:45 pm in B-Lecture. Pick up a flyer in the bookstore for dates, times, and registration information.

Boys Basketball

Way to Go Cards!! The Varsity Boys beat the Bombers of Kenston by a score of 85-58. Five players were in double figures, led by Justin Fritts with 14, Mitchell Trubisky & Brody Nelson (11) and Danny Wallack & Conner Krizancic (10). Welcome back Danny! The next game is Tuesday, February 7 at Strongsville.


Boys JV Basketball

The JV Boys Basketball team lost a close game to Kenston by a score of 51-55. The leading scorers for Mentor were Kade McClure (19) and Von Maddox (16). The next game is Tuesday, Away at Strongsville.


Gymnastics

The gymnastics team scored 142.125 points to win the Northeast Ohio Conference meet held Saturday at Medina High School. Strongsville was runner-up. Contributing to the win were Co-captains Brittney Adkins, Alex Aiello, Allie Arthur, and Kayla Kosmerl who each competed all-around; supported by event specialists Sarah Butterfield, Lauren Cannon, Jordan Beebe, and Bri Latta. Kayla swept the individual competition winning each of the 4 events and All-Around with a season best 37.90. Alex was NOC runner-up in All-Around (35.45), 4th vault, 5th beam. Allie finished 2nd vault and 4th All-Around (35.25). Kayla, Alex and Allie also earned All-NOC recognition. Congratulations!


Boys Basketball

Congratulations to the Varsity Boys Basketball team for defeating Mayfield by a score of 84-50. The entire team played and was lead by Justin Fritts with 22, Jeff Foreman (16) and Conner Krizancic (10). Way to Cardinals!! The next game will be Friday, Feb 3, HOME against Kenston. This is Parents Night for players & cheerleaders. Hope to see you there.

Congratulations to the JV team for beating Mayfield by a score of 66-38. Leading scorers were Kade McClure with 16, Nick Fillar (12) and Kyle Hagey (11). The next game will be Friday, Feb 3, HOME against Kenston. This is parents night for players and cheerleaders. Hope to see you there!


Boys FGrayBasketball

Way to go Freshmen Gray team!! The boys beat Mayfield by a score of 62-57. Leading scorers were Paul Sateika with 19, Drew Noble (12) and Brandon Merryman (12). Brandon Merryman was 4 for 4 at the line in the closing minutes to seal the win!!


Boys Basketball

Congratulations to the Varsity Boys Basketball team for defeating Brush last night by a score of 83-64. The leading scorer for the Cards was Justin Fritts with 30, followed by Conner Krizancic with 18. WAY TO GO CARDS!! The Cardinals play tonight, Home, against Mayfield. It is Mentor Youth Basketball night. Hope to see you there!


Boys JV Basketball

Congratulations to the JV Boys Basketball team for defeating Benedictine by a score of 45-39. High Scorers for Mentor were Kade McClure with 20 and Kent Berger & Nick Fillar with 11. Kent also had 12 rebounds! GO CARDS!!


Boys Basketball

The Varsity Basketball Team defeated Benedictine by a score of 85-82 in a close game that came down to the last few minutes. Justin Fritts lead all scorers with 36 points! Conner Krizancic added 17 and Brandon Fritts 10. WAY TO GO CARDINALS!!! The Cardinals will play at Brush Thursday night at 7 pm.
